At 16 years of age, Bubble Media’s founder Andrew Suttar embarked on a 12-week long school science project in an attempt to put to rest the question of how to make homemade soap bubble mixture recipe for big and giant bubbles.

Whilst he succeeded in his investigation, this was 1994, since then unfortunately many of the dishwashing liquids have changed their composition to the point that nowadays most homemade bubble mixes don’t really work very well at all.

Until recently we used dishwashing liquid-based recipes in our hands-on bubble blowing activities. Unfortunately around every 24 months or so we would turn up to present a bubble blowing activity and our bubble mix wouldn’t perform - the bubbles would just pop.

We’d of course race down to the supermarket to buy a bunch of new formulas and quickly make up various bubble recipes at various ratios in an attempt to find a via-bubble alternative. But gradually over the years, our publicly-used soap bubble mixes were declining.

Our show mix has always been outstanding however it as it is very high tech - it has always been very expensive. Recently we have made the costly move to purchase our show-quality soap bubble mixture in large enough quantities to be able to use the same concentrate for our bubble activities.

This now means that our publicly avail-a-bubble mixes are superb - they are also safer to use than dishwashing liquids.
